I've been on all kinds of medicine combinations.I finally got into a study of lacosamide in '07.It was passed in Europe on 7/3/08 then real quickly FDA passed Vimpat on 10/31/08.Vimpat reduced my frequency of seizures from one every 3-4 weeks to one per 8-10 weeks.Then Keppra XR was added to it on 12/4/09,what a change now I'm not aware of any since then.I take the alot of Vimpat twice a day, 8:30am&8:30pm and XR only once at bedtime (9:30pm). It is very important to always take medicines at exactly the same time or maybe 1or 2 mins. late,ALL the time. Never think of it like or around that time. Prescriptions might say morning and evening but then time it more exactly.

I have been on the Keppra for years, so I know pretty well what I can take
and what not to take with it. The Vimpat I haven't been on that long, so I
really don't know about it. The antibiotics and other medicine for other
problems I do wonder about if and when the time comes for them. Every now
and then I go and get something to eat after a seizure.I don't know why I do
it. It was worse before I was changed to the Vimpat, but it has happened.
Just have to be careful and ask the doctors before taking other things.
Vimpat is a pretty new thing with the doctors around here, so there is a lot
to learn about it. I guess it will take so time. Take care.
