Shan,
You aren't thinking that if a person w/epilepsy is swimming alone,a seizure & dies because of drowning, the cause of his death IS drowning. The seizure that caused it isn't even known about.Water in the lung is enough to die from, suspect and examine. They can't test/eeg of a dead brain. If crashing a car w/o a witness, the cause could be head trauma (impact) or blood loss resulting from the crash, not seizure. If a person falls off rocks the cause may be that he fell far enough to cause death not a quick release of grip because of seizure activity, the persons brain may be busted out of head. How can they just think he was sick in the head.A person who dies of any form of cancer does dies over time.Cancer isn't a loss a loss of consciousness,
of aura it's worst.

Yes and I said that where a person has a seizue can be dangerous - the most dangerous seizures I had were Absence seizures while crossing the street. Once I had 6 seizures while trying to cross a busy street and if my son had not been with me I would have walked out in front of a car. By the time I had had seizures for a decade, the absence or Petite Mal seizures seemed to be effected by the temporal lobe focus and changed. I would continue walking when I had an absence of Petite Mal seizures even though I could not hear nor see nor talk. I have also seen how uncontrolled seizues can cause brain damage in a family of 3 persons whom had Grand Mal seizures - a teeenage, her mother and grandmother. I am sure that most of us have had seizures in places that made it dangerous - but that does not mean that epeliptics die from epilepsy in the same amount as breast cancer.....

Having a seizure when climbing on rocks on the side side of a hill and falling downward. And anything that requires continuous consciouness. Having seizures in a row or an extremely long seizures.

I know that where a person has a seizue can be dangerous and sometimes is; I know that if the anti-convulsants are mixed with alchohol that people can sometimes kill themselves by accident; I know that most of the anti-convulsants are carcinogenic and that they also all cause birth defects and sometimes brain cancer if one of the birth defects..... But I hadn't heard that a significant number of epileptics die of cancer....Is there a specific kind of cancer that is more prevalent then others in Epileptics?

(An event the wife and I attended 2 years ago) and local walks throughout teh US and Canada. March is Epilepsy Awareness month in Canada and a 10 year old girl there started the Purple Day several years ago. So the only thing required on Frioday is to wear purple and remind others that Epilepsy affects and kills more people than breast Cancer, but gets almost no publicity and very limited research. Thank you everyone
