The only problems with this that a doctor said that is on the Epilepsey team from TCH said you should be more concerned if they happen when you are waking up or awake. But I would still check in with my doctor.

Hi
Myoclonic jerks or what feels like, looks like etc the body does if you are aware of it every time you fall
asleep. Not sure about while you are sleeping though. This first one is normal for anyone with or without
epilepsy, the body just has that type of reaction as it falls asleep. Possibly with epilepsy we are more
aware of it happening and it is or feels outstanding then. Good question as to whether we have them during
our sleep though....anyone know????

Just something that's been on my mind.... Are myoclonic jerks during sleep (aka hypnic jerks) seizures? I
haven't had a seizure in over a year now thanks to a left temporal lobectomy, but I've been experiencing these
quick and sudden jerks that wake me up at night... about one or two a night. Is this normal or do I need to
inform my neurologist?
