Hi Jason,
Yes, it most definitly is amazing what we do during seizures when we aren't aware of the present. I have my extremely scary and also funny stories of what I did during complex partials. From my bicycling, to walking off trains then coming out of the seizure and finding myself in parking lots after getting off at the wrong stations. Or waiting for a train then finding myself a few blocks away from the station never getting on the train. Or standing in front of my house simply standing on the sidewalk looking toward the street. When asked why I was there I told somebody "I'm waiting for a ride to get home". When I was told "you are home", I then walked inside where I live (smile)! Once when playing tennis indoors during a cold Chicago winter, wearing just short pants and a t-shirt. I went into a seizure and tried walking out the fire exit! They stopped me some how, after coming out of the seizure, rested and continued on with the tennis. My best story is going into seizure during a tennis doubles match in a tournament. I went into my complex partial, my partner came to the net telling our oppentants of my epilepsy blah blah blah. He told them I will be out of it and will be able to play in 15 minutes. I was off walking around the court I'm told. Underhanded I tossed up the ball very hard, almost as high as the trees then caught the ball behind my back! Then again tossed it up just as high and caught it again behind my back! My partner felt like a total idiot by me doing that and the looks from our opponents. We wound up winning that match. I was told our opponents looked worse than I did while I was in my seizure! What a way to get away from life for a break (smile)!
Yes, our minds our an amazing piece of equipment that we all need to protect!
Jason, be very careful about the style of the recumbent Bicycle you get. Many of them have a very low to ground setting. They are great for the hard surface trails. BUT, for rode use, there low base isn't seen by cars and trucks! Even with rear high flags and blinking flashing rear and front lights besides reflecterss on the bike and what you wear and on your helmet. Costs for these are extreemly high!!!
There are high style bikes, 3 wheeled bikes that use more strength to ride because of their less arrow dynamic structure. Look at different styles before making your final choice. Take a look at web sites for them to see differences. Take care, keep a smile on your face!
