I see some change, not so much in the music but in the presentation.I think it is just a natural progression and not religious beliefs. Prince has been changing over the years. When he made For You and several albums after that he was a rude boy, wild child. During the Purple Rain era he grew up both musically and mentally. He was more reflective, he seemed to be trying to find his spirituality, to find himself.He now seems more comfortable with who he is, more relaxed.I think the changes in the music and it's presentation were just various periods of personal and spiritual growth.Like you,I have been a Prince fan from the beginning, I know I have grown over the years, and in some of the same ways Prince has.My musical tastes have changed along with his. I feel, in a sense, we have grown up with Prince. They say when you become a man (woman) you put away childish things. That is growth.I loved him in the beginning, during his growth, and the man he has become.Allah (God), is the greatest and we all, whether we know it or not must submit to His will.I grew from playing with dolls, to playing with boys, to learning to love myself and my fellow man. Every journey has a beginning, a middle and an end. From the beginning and through all these changes I have loved God and my journey is more concentrated now on what pleases Him.Prince like the rest of us must live his experience, he has to grow. He can do this knowing those of us who love him, will love him through it all.

I believe everyone knows I am a hardcore Prince Fam/Fan and that I stand behind our musical genius from the 1st time I've/you've heard of him, til now.
Some people hold to the point of view that P's art has been compromised or that because of his religion, it's changed him. Since I am a follower of a ... certain way of life and I consider myself religious as well I do not hold to that point of view (it was mostly youth).
Since P's 1st album (For You) to the Lotusflow3r experience, it has been a great journey.
Does anyone keep with the point of view that P's music has changed drastically or is it all part of a ... "progression or metamorphosis?
