people with mild-severly mental retardation have a high chance bringing someone in this world that will be mentally retarded. i know i am mild mentally retarded and i do have a good chance of fathering a mentally retarded child. i had my doctor do a semen analysis to see if i most likely would father a mentally retarded child. when i went to the doctor on my next visit the doctor told me i will mostly father a mentally retarded child. the doctor told me i couldn't father a child that will not have a disibility so i decided to get a vasectomy when i was 20 years old.

Hi Lynda and Danny,
There is a genetic tendency towards epilepsy, but that doesn't
include epilepsy caused by trauma or disease. The majority of
epilepsy cases have no known cause. And most children born to parents
with epilepsy DON'T have it themselves. So sterilizing people with
epilepsy wouldn't eliminate epilepsy. So many wonderful people here
with so much to give the world and so much joy to be had in life. No
one should have the right to take that away.
Take care,
Tammy
