> I also have a question for you. What exactly is lobelia? I've never
heard of it before.
Lobelia is a flowering plant that contains lobeline; it's also called
"Indian Tobacco". The Native Americans used to smoke it. I don't know if
anyone still does. Lobeline is in the same drug class as nicotine (and has a
similar effect profile). Both nicotine and lobeline initially stimulate the
CNS and then strongly depress it. You can even buy lobeline patches to help
you stop smoking. Lobeline can also be used to treat asthma.
Craig was using a tincture under his tongue which is a bit similar to
chewing on tobacco. Both drugs can pass easily through the tongue and the
mucous membranes in the mouth.
