Well it depends on what your condition is post-ictally. Sometimes you snap
right out of it. Unfortunately I go into fugues and get in fights with
people while still unconscious. Or I regain consciousness verrrrrry
sloooowwwwwwwwly during which time I'm confused and maybe doing things.

One recent one I had here, I was taking a shower in the shower room, and
came out with no towel on the hooks. My clothes that I'd been wearing were
still hanging there, but that's it. I had to sneak out and grab a wad of
paper towels, and back in the shower room I was thinking, this doesn't make
sense. That's always the #1 thought, something doesn't make sense.

So I got dressed after paper-towelling myself off and got back to my chair
dressed and soaked, and I sat in the chair for a time... trying
unsuccessfully to get work done... and as I did I felt one of those strange
emotions that in my whole life I've only felt after seizures. I sent an
email to my boss asking if she knew if I had a seizure or not. She came over
right away saying, yes, you just had a big one and you started walking
around. The whole going to the shower thing was a fugue, which is why I
don't remember anything happening before I was in the shower. I regained
consciousness in there. And that was during a time when I wasn't biking to
work, so taking a shower was totally bizarre.

I found the text file that I'd been editing, with a repeating letter right
at the place where I was typing when I lost consciousness. I thought that
was funny.

Anyway it isn't a matter of educating people in the vicinity; my memory
really does get erased.

Just a friendly reminder: Please remember to sign your post and remember to clean up messages when you reply to them.  This is especially important if you are on digest.  This not only helps out the list owner but, it makes messages much easier to read when they arrive in our inboxes.
