CBI,
Your neurologist has to do a lot of testing to see if you are a candidate
for the surgery. If you have tried all the medicine and had no success, then
it is something to consider. There are risks for anykind of surgery. I don't
know if it would be an elective, if the neurologist thought it was something
that is beneficial to you health. Where the seizures come from probably
makes a big difference in whether you are a candidate or not. Mine are in
the left temporal lobe. I don't know if can make them worse or not. It
improved the ones I had when I had the surgery done.If you talk to your
neurologist about it and they can't do it themselves, they would probably
send you to a doctor that knows something about it and if you are able to
have it done or not.It took months to get the testing overwith and when I
was in the hospital after surgery, I was there 3 days and then got to come
home. It takes some time to get back on your feet.I was glad I had it done.
I still have seizures, but not near as many.If there is anything else I can
help with, write anytime. Take care.
