Kirst,
I have been on Keppra for almost nine years now, or about when they first
brought it on the market. They switched mine to the generic back in December
and after two doses started having seizures more often. I have medicaid and
the doctor had to get it preauthorized. I went to my neurologist a couple of
weeks ago and he changed the regular Keppra to Keppra XR. I take the same mg
dose that I did when I was on just the regular Keppra. It seems to wrok
better so far. My neurologist didn't seem to happy when I told him about the
generic. I hope your daughter doesn't have any problems with the generic,
but if she does, you might need to talk to your doctor and see if there
isn't something he can do. Take care.
