Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
I have been doing fast five for 7 weeks now. I have lost 10# of 20# that I need to lose. So I'm pretty happy with the results and I it hasn't been too hard. Although I do seem to be at a standstill. I think it's because I have not been consistent in my eating window, opening it anywhere from 12 to 3.
It was my understanding that it doesn't really matter when the window is. I just re-read the book though and although he says at one point where the window is doesn't matter, later in the book he says 2 things are special about fast five 1) the 19 hour fast and 2) sleeping in a non fasted state. so sleep should be just after finishing eating.
When I thought about when to have my window, I thought it would be easier to sleep when i'm more fasted (so that if i do get hungry, i'll be asleep and won't notice!). I also always heard it's better to not eat at night.
I guess the logic of the fast five is that you are burning more calories /fat when you are not sleeping, so its best to spend the latter part of your fast awake and burning fat rather than sleeping.
any thoughts on this? Do the best results come in the 5-10 window if you are sleeping at normal time?
