... I learned this from the diabetic classes/course I took as well as from the Nutritionist I see regularly , both from Peace Health Care ... Can deduct the fiber in anything from the amount of carbs giving you the total carbs in that item...So Higher the fiber the better. Bulk up the fiber in any recipe and carb count comes down accordingly.
The high fiber content can be deducted from the total carbs ...

fiber -10.2
= 8.2 carbs
