Walmec,
If you don't tell your Dr. -- how does he know what meds to give you?
Does Australia have a rule of how long you can be without a sz before
you can drive? Here in the US-- each state is different. When I was
diagnosed (DX) with EP 49 years ago -- they took my license for a year.
Some years later I had a sz and I just quit driving for a year. Now in
Indiana where I live( and always have since I was DXed) it is up to the
Dr. and the motor vehicle bureau. Some states have 3 month, 6 months
and some a year before you can drive after a sz.
If I would have a sz now the Dr. would have to give written consent
that it is OK for me to drive. I sold my car 3 years ago-- so that is
not a problem for me any more.
I don't know as it is a problem with the Dr. It is for your safety and any
person in your car or a car that meets you.
It is true that a petite mal may be short lived -- but it is probably long
enough that you could cross the line into another car.
What kind of work do you do? How far do you have to drive to work?
Millie

I live in Australia. I haven't had a problem, while driving, for over 3 years. been on meds for 2.5 years. The seizures i get, used to be called, petty mall. I believe they have something to do with breathing rates. I need more advise. Can't ask doctors, because they will take my work ability away because of it.
