I'm on Trileptol and that has helped me with word recall and speaking more clearly w/out sounding like I'm not composing a full sentence. Even when I read a book, as I LOVE to read....I have to write the characters down so that I can go back to refresh my memory

Kim,
What Steve says is a great response. I had word recall issues for a few
months, which caused me to jumble my words even when speaking. Also,
reading was hard, not because I didn't know the words, rather because I
couldn't remember the word I had read a few seconds after. That is a
short term memory issue. I had to read the words over and over, go back
again and again. I actually hated reading because it took so much
concentration it made my head hurt!
If it is those issues, time will help. It will get better. I do still
says some funny tings from time to time, because my words get mixed up.
I still have to reread thins sometimes, because I forgot what I just
read, but it is better then it was.
Kelly
