I concur I don't understand why everyone is hating on her I actually accept her because Prince likes her just like we've accepted Tamar and everyone else her cd isn't strong but it's nice in my opinion

I think that after the Tamar's "Milk & Honey" debacle, Prince wanted to make sure that his protege had the same limelight and opportunity to succeed from the record label. I think that Tamar's album would have been very good if it had been released at the time. However, Prince and Tamar got screwed and Prince is guaranteeing that Bria's sales will be no worse than his by this joint release.
I wonder, if we are being honest about our expectations with Bria's album. Are we listening with a critical or dismissive ear? In other words, are we telling ourselves that her album is not that good before we listen to it?
Who, among the proteges who have released albums, who has had a good to great singing voice? Answer: Rosie Gaines. With every other protege, the music was paramount on the album. With that said, why are all of the comments that I am reading in this group, about Bria's singing voice? Honestly, did we really expect more?
Give me two weeks, and I'll offer my review on each in the trio of albums.

I just have an observation 2 make. I don't think Bria would be talking so much bravado if her CD was released by itself and not attached 2 Prince's. Prince is a well established artist and has had many number one albums and it would not be a surprise if his new CD debuted at #1. However, if Bria had done her own thing, she is a totally new artist and it would be almost impossible 4 her 2 hit that high her first week out. She's riding his coat tails and acting like she made this big contribution when we know the majority of the ppl that bought the album bought it 4 Prince. I'm not trying 2 bad mouth her, but maybe she shouldn't talk so much smack and try 2 be a little more humble and thankful 4 the opportunites and blessings she ahs been given in life. Just my opinion.

We just received word* that Bria Valente and Prince have a gentlewoman’s bet going on in need of resolution….
Despite the discrimitory practices of the music industry with regards to Prince for the past decade or so, Ms Valente has ALWAYS believed that their CD would enter the Billboard chart at NUMERO UNO. Extremely high hopes for a BRAND NEW ARTIST like herself but early calculations show she may indeed get her wish!
This is where it gets interesting, everyone….
IF the CD does debut there, Prince has promised her a bash to end all bashes at a location of her choice. I am gonna say this, our spies will not rest until we find out what Prince gets if Bria loses the bet. I know this male mind short-circuits at the mere thought of the FINAL outcome!
