well maybe you just have to get your daughter sterilised if you don't want your daughter to get pregnant since the epilepsy drugs don't work well with the birth control pill. me myself being a male i chose to get sterilised when i was 20 years old and i have been very happy with that decision because i'm mild mentally retarded with a slight learning disability and epilepsy. i believe men should share the responsibility in birth control. i hope you can find a way for your daughter not getting pregnant.

Subject: [epilepsy] Birth control and carbatrol for my 18 year old daughter? Help!
To: epilepsy@yahoogroup
Date: Friday, April 3, 2009, 6:16 PM
Hello,
My daughter was diagnosed with epililepsy when she was 9. They have been
controlled using the medication Carbatrol. Now that she is 18, we are looking
for a birth control pill. We have tried several things with a wonderful
gynecologist but the carbatrol lessens the effectiveness of all of them. She
ends up having a period in the middle of her cycle and again at the normal time.
Any ladies out there that have had similar issues that could help us? Thank
you.
Janice
