As a musician that's one of the reasons I love Prince so much. I'm a self taught trumpet player and then I took lessons. I started playing trumpet to bond with my stepfather because he loved Miles Davis and the Jazz Fusion artist back in the day. I haven't played since high school or was it college ... Anywho, one of these days I'm gonna pick up my White Cloud guitar and my bass guitar and you may find me on stage with Prince one day. I of course have to stop respecting the instrument so much and loose the intimidation I have of it and move forward but, that's another story for another time ...

Oh I so have borrow that one...buying caviar at the liquor store! As far as the tribute..they could've dropped the DeBarge performance and added to Prince's tribute. When the audience gave him a standing ovation...he got his props then. Nobody but a true Prince fan could honor his contribution to humanity as well as to the music industry. That's why he is more than a self taught musician (did they even mention that?) he has given so much to the world especially to education. The tribute should've reflected how much of a Renaissance entity he truly is.

he probaly was crying becuz he himself had 2 be humble yet knew that they could've done better ,, but U can't buy caviar @ the liquor store can u, despite the per4mances they should've been more indepth,,, I mean look at last years show which was supposed 2 have been an allnite tribute 2 MJ yet they dropped the ball with mere liquor store per4amces

Another reason I dont watch BET...that "tribute" was awful. Trey just destroyed Purple Rain. We all know Prince is special and so is his music. Loved his speech at the end.
