Feeling your frustration, I have the same thing with my 82 year old mother. I would never hear the last of it if I told her I fasted, bearing in mind she's been overweight all her life and I'm not but that would hold no odds with her.
I just take it on the chin and try and have a salad or something equally light and ignore the faddy eating comments when I don't want something unhealthy. Back on it the next day!
I'm fortunate that we don't eat together very often and if I pop in to see her I say I've already eaten or I'm eating later with my hubby.
Tis annoying though
