I have just read this article and I have a couple of personal comments
on it. Firstly, the gentleman writes: "To me, the worst feature of
Fast-5 is that it encourages you to eat when you are not hungry." He
imagines that a person using the Fast-5 WOE will cram in a meal at the
end of their eating window which they are not hungry for. Firstly,
Fast-5 does not in of itself encourage that, in fact you are supposed to
eat according to your appetite within your personal eating window. My
own window is 5pm to 7pm. I eat one meal in this window (rather
protracted with several courses!) and then I stop eating. I am
comfortably full at this point, not stuffed. And at no point do I eat
when I am not hungry, and I imagine most people using this WOE are the
same as me.
Another of the gentleman's criticisms is that one would go to bed on a
full stomach as a consequence of eating that unwanted meal. I go to bed
at 10-11pm, by which time my stomach has emptied (3 hours post eating).
No problems there. And I very rarely dream of food or wake up feeling
hungry.
I agree with Karen about liking the regularity of Fast-5. I have a 22
hour fast, and then 2 hours to eat, every day, and I don't have to
fiddle my schedule at any point.
