Happy New Year Erotic City NPG!!!!

I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and are doing well. I am late as ever (as usual) but, I wanted to share my Minneapolis Xperience from 10/24/09 - did I mention I am late? lol

I will try to make this short and sweet (like Prince) before my entire memory fades. Let me just say it was one of the funkiest nights I have ever spent @ Paisley Park. Come on after such a long dry spell, Prince knew exactly what to do!

The Last Jam of 2009 was one of the most memorable Prince concerts I have ever attended. It all began with me 'wishing' I could go to Berlin for Prince Nite in Chicago on Sunday, Oct. 25. As I was driving home from work I was contemplating going to Chicago, I was also thinking how NICE it would be if Prince would pop up at the Park before the end of the year and I swear to you all not more than an hour later I got a text from a Purple Hippie telling me Prince was going to be in the Moneyapple! I was seriously in shock...and yes I literally screamed like only I could! Ooowah! lol

Ol' Skool Company fans know how we do! I was making phone calls, surfing the Net, begging for money and most importantly, trying to figure out how I was going to pull off a Prince concert with only one day to get ready!? LOL I will spare you the details but, I LOVE MY PURPLE FAMILY! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for looking out for my big head!

In case you did not know I never unpack lol I am always on stand by for Prince so the biggest task was getting a ticket and figuring out my means of transportation. My purple sister Jill threw the wild sign high in the middle of the night and baby baby it was ON! Thanks as always Jill U rock..therefore u r!  I was literally dazed and confused from start to finish. All I could say was, if I am dreaming PLEASE Don't Wake ME!!! lol

I opted to fly to the Moneyapple since there was a chance of snow I did not want to be stranded on the highway. Stayed at my 2nd home in MPLS Chan Inn LOL I mean there was no time to breathe just had to Go Go GO! Arrived, checked-in, got a bite to eat and checked my Blackberry only to find out there was no parking at The Park - say what? The race was on!

Finally the arrival - had to drive my rental to a park and ride where my friend Alicia and I got on the bus which graciously took us to The Park! By this time...it started to rain...rain rain :) and with Prince you just never know what to expect. Ah, I did not expect for him to start ON TIME!? Yes u heard it right LOL

Although this was a L4OA event, I did not have time to bring any additional donations... so, I hope my ticket purchase sufficed :) After gaining entrance to The Park I was greeted by so many familiar faces it was like a family reunion!  I swear I mistook Rebecca for SECURITY was waiting on her to wave that wand over my body lol My heart was just racing as I entered the scene - low and behold Prince remodeled The Park?? Bless his soul ! I loved it....

Walked near the sound stage and you know my breath was taken away (THUD) pure FUNK!!! Come on - Prince Live @ Paisley Park for $31.21 an impromptu show? Reminds some of us of The Days of Wild! Hit me!

Did you read the set list? Go back read it twice!! lol Prince shook the walls of Paisley Park like never before. I was in awe as always and just really let myself relax and let go! The best thing about Prince concerts [IMHO] is every song is MY SONG! I loved every moment of it and sadly enough I swear I got teary eyed when he sang Purple Rain and I think the only time this has happened before was when I saw the premiere of Purple Rain (in my hometown) it was crazy.....just bittersweet!

Once I came out of my trance...and the lights came on I was still hiding behind my dark sunglasses in the pale moonlight YES inside Paisley Park lol I saw faces that I had not seen in a while but, in the back of my mind I kept saying "There's no place like home!" Yes, Paisley Park is our joint!!!

If I tried to named everyone I saw, greeted or kissed or hugged I know I would leave someone out so I will do my best and if I miss someone (just slap me!) Rebecca, Jill, Carolyn, Priana, Elo, Marcus, Ivy, Jo, Porsche, Utopia, Barbara and Qa'id, Eleanor, Tiffany, Christine, Michele, Geneva, ok I know I am missing somebody (4give me) and I did meet a wonderful young man from Chitown - he introduced himself to me and I could not hear his name I know it started with an S - so I thank him much for showing me love!  I loved seeing so many purple people from coast to coast that rocked my world!  Oh did I mention PRINCE was there and he sang to me? LMAO! And I'd better not forget our stage performers dancing with PRINCE Marcus & Jo were up on stage representing nothing but DA FUNK!!! I loved it!

It was a funky time had by all and if I could do it all over again - I WOULD!!! My feet ached for 2 weeks...ask me I care? LOL My ears will never be the same but, the memories I have from every Prince event will always be PRICELESS!!

Thank you all for your love, patience and kindness.... wishing you all peace, love and joy!

Have a Prosperous New Year !!! 2010 is here!
