Re: [fast5] Re: Back and forth but back for good

I've had a cup of Miso for breakfast in the winter for many years.

You can buy miso paste in just about any Asian food store and/or often white or red miso paste in natural foods stores. It's quite economical if you buy it in a paste and put in your own container in the fridge. It'll last you forever and has no extra added salt/MSG etc. . .

A tablespoon or two of the paste in boiling water is very soothing and add some black pepper and green onion or some shredded cabbage and you have a nourishing soup to break any fast with.

It is a product made from soy so if you have any allergies to soy, avoid it.

Heather, I LOVE miso soup. I found it in the local Asian market prepackaged with green onions and seaweed, just add water. The problem with it is that it contains MSG and lots of salt. I was bloating like crazy! And I couldn't eat just one or two packets, I had to eat like 4 or 5 packets before I calmed myself down. :)

I may have to try the home made version that you mention. We have a local hippie store here that sells miso as you describe. Sounds good!
