Re: [Healthy_Recipes_For_Diabetic_Friends] In honor of Texas Independence Day - Rio Grande Valley Citrus Slaw - 13g Carbs,

My bottle of metformin has no warning about grapefruit. I just did a Google
search and found several references to a South Africa study that advised T2s
on metformin to not drink grapefruit juice as it could cause lactic
acidosis. In my opinion, a diabetic should never drink juice unless
treating for a low. The report said nothing about grapefruit segments. I
have 1/2 of a grapefruit several days a week and have never had any problems
from eating it, despite the fact that I take metformin. Not advocating you
start eating it but just saying.

Sounds good but grapefruit is not allowed if you are taking metformin and
certain diabetes medicine! I would love to eat this! Mmmm
