Re: [epilepsy] Does anyone also have asthma? Questions about meds?

Hi,

I was on Topamax briefly, but I take flovent and albuterol (now proair). I never had a problem with those, and combos, and my current meds, Zonegran and Trileptal. I've also been on Keppra and other meds, and never an issue.

www.rxlist.com has a little feature where you can plug in all of your medications and see if there are any interactions. but you have to know what to look for: sometimes it will pull something up, but it's not really an issue.

your best bet is to also ask the pharmacist.

Subject: [epilepsy] Does anyone also have asthma? Questions about meds?

Does anyone know if you Can you take Symbicort if you have a seizure disorder? I just got told that I have asthma and need to take Symbicort by one doctor (pulmonlogist) whereas my Neuro treats my seizures with Topamax and Neuontin. Both Drs are not very helpful- don't explain things to me very well sometimes, I have to learn things for myself by reading handouts that come w/ prescriptions and stuff on pharmaceutical websites and online... I am actually looking for a new neuro. because of this and other reasons...My pulmonolgist tried to answer my questions the best he could about the medication and it's effects on my seizures, he just said this wasn't "his area of knowledge" if anyone knows anything about this medication and how it affects seizure activity please respond...THANKS!!!
