Re: [epilepsy] Constipation a side effect?

Hi Mark,

Anything you take can have side effects. A great resource is: www.askapatient.com --people enter in their own experiences with vary medications and side effects, etc...

I was on Keppra, and never had a problem, but I very rarely have side effects. My friend, on the other hand, would have every side effect known to man.

Why though, wouldn't you mention this to your doctor? Remember, they are doctors--and I'm sure you're not the only person who has had this issue!! I had to tell my gorgeous neurologist that a medication was making my libido out of control!!

Subject: [epilepsy] Constipation a side effect?

I was wondering if anyone has had trouble with constipation as a side effect of their meds. It's kinda embarrassing to talk about, but I think that seems to be the case with me. I didn't think about bringing it up at my last appointment with my epileptologist, but I didn't think it was that necessary to mention anyway. Should I call the doctor and mention it? Do some of the meds have constipation as a side effect? I take Keppra and Lamictal, FYI.
