Vimpat (lacosamide) is a good drug.I was in a study of lacosamide at Johns
Hopkins Hospital and UCB who manufactures Vimpat. Now I'm seeing another doctor
at NYU who replaced the other medicine that I was taking Vimpat and something
else that was changed to Keppra XR.Now I'm taking Vimpat+Keppra XR.M frequency
of seizures moved from one every 3-4 wks. it had been at for 26 yrs.After I
began the study it became one every 8-12 wks.Then after the Keppra XR in
Dec.2010 it became 3mo.&5days then 3mo.&2days before 1/4/11 it lasted 6.75
months.I felt just a simple partial.I thought it was just a warning of a more
intensive seizure coming on,it never progressed.I'd never had one before and go
directly into complex- partials.Now I'm counting from there,so far its been 2
mos. I hope one never appears and I'll start driving again,I keep
doing what Orrin Devinsky,M.D.says.

First I want to say Hello to all the new people here on our list. I am the
owner who has been away for a long time. Where to start……
1. A lot of seizures
2. The Holidays
3. Got sick with a bug
4. Change meds for seizure control (Trileptal twice a day)
5. More seizures until I level out
6. Got another bug
7. Get hooked on Facebook Café World and Frontierville
8. Terri's Fault !!!!!!
9. Nope still seizures add another make it 3 times a day
10. Get stomach trouble because of Trileptal
11. Add Nexium for a few Days and Go off Trileptal
12. Get on Vimpat
Now I am emailing you and I am sure Terri will tell me later that I forgot a
lot of stuff in between there. .It has been a long hard months of getting
back to healthy.
I have only been on Vimpat for two days so anything I should know about?
So what is the word on this Vimpat?
