Gina,
First know that it is an extremely rare side effect. the best thing to
do is pay attention, if any new rash, even a small amount shows up, take
him to the emergency room. Tell them he just started on Lamictal and
you are concerned about a new rash.
The reality is there are other side effects that are more common to be
aware of. Mood swings being the most common of those. I was on
Lamictal when I was first diagnosed, and was off of it within 2 weeks
because of the horrid mood swings it caused me.
