I was on it too (but when I was older)...the rash is usually just when you're coming off Depakote I believe. But definitely let the doctor know! It never really helped me, so I never had to worry. As long as you're starting him off slowly on it, and going slowly off the Depakote (if that's the case), then it shouldn't be a problem.

My 8 year old son was started on this medication a couple of days ago. I am
scared to death of it because of the rash it can cause. He was started on a
very low dose (5mg) but I am still in a panic over it.

I'd appreciate any input on this medication/syndrome that anyone has to
offer.
