I would specifically ask for a D test. I had no idea my D was near ZERO until I
saw an endocrinologist for thyroid disease and learned that it was largely the
reason for my near-death-like symptoms. I am now on the low end of normal and
take 5,000 iu a day in addition to a multi. If your D is really low, as mine
was, you'll need specific D therapy for several weeks or months to get it back
up and will probably have to take additional D for some time to keep it up.
