Re: [epilepsy] more update: landlord discrimination

Well Brian, I must say it doesn't surprise me, (No Offence) as I have heard so
many stupid excuses for the last almost 9 years now, as to why I'm not
disabled!!! What is up with that? My last Denial last September I was told that
I wasn't eligible because my recorded seizures (E.R visits. that is). They
showed it was because my medication levels were off.. So did they just say I was
only having them cause my Medication Level's Were Off??? Thats kinda Idiotic if
you think about it cause if I wasn't Epileptic why would my medication levels
make a difference?? Oh because they just want to shove medications down my
throat for no reason? I kinda gave up temporarily (So I can Calm Down as I have
bad anxiety Issues as Well) because, the lawyer I had spoke to last year treated
me like trash. I had done like he said and requested a continuance via leaving a
voicemail through the Evanston Illinois S.S.I Office but, I never recieved a
return message so I just went to the court appearance so as they wouldn't
dismiss my case cause I didn't Show Up!!! Well I represented myself w/ my mother
there. I figured they would just deny it then I would goto my 3rd appeal.. Well,
I got denied, then went to see that lawyer and he cussed me out to the point I
felt like criing! Which for me infront of other people don't happen!!!. I wanted
to hit him soo bad and tell him off but, I kept my composure!!! I'm so tired of
the crap I have been going through. I have been having to rely on my mother and
other people to help me just with my meds, not to mention having to miss
appointments because I live about 25 miles from Rockford where my neuro is at
and so forth!! I can't drive neither can my mother as she has M.S. so for both
of us it's extremly difficult to make it month to month on just her checks. I
just dont know what to do. I just hope that you get the spotlight on the News,
as the more people that hear about discrimination cases like yours, its more
likely less landlords will try to pull some stupid manuevers like that again. It
sounds like you got a good case and I wish you luck and look forward to the
results!!!

So now, it's my turn to respond to what I think of this response and I've got a
lot to say.
