Carolyn,
I can only say that this is what happened to me.People are different, partial
epilepsy was diagnosed in '74 a Dr. put me on two medicines
(Dilantin&phenabarbitol) my seizure frequency remined (1 per 5-8 wks).Before '80
I saw my 1st neurologist who removed one of two and replaced it,while added a
third one. Then for many years he kept replacing one of these. In '92 he replaced
Dilantin which I'd been on for years before seeing him, frequency alway remained
(1 in 3-4 wks).Until '08 when I saw a neurologist @ Johns Hopkins removed two
of the three, while; adding and tested lacosamide, now its Vimpat frequency
improved (1 in 8-12 wks). Then another doctor who's @ NYU changed my medicine
from Vimpat&Lyrica to Vimpat&Keppra XR my seizure frequency is now (3 in
13mos.).I wonder what being on mono-therepy(1 medicine) would do.Two worked
OK,three made my feel like a guinia pig for a long time, now two is like OK
again.Timothy Baldwin

Thank all of you. I'm still working on this and won't do anything until
after my vacation in February - I'm a little frightened - but your input has
been invaluable. Carolyn
