Sounds like you would be better served by not "over-thinking".

You haven't read Gary Taubes or you wouldn't be obsessing about perceived "benefit" of exercise for fat loss and you would be trying to eat MORE Fat and let the carb level be naturally low by only getting them from the green vegetables you eat, no grain, eating to fill at your daily meal.

Select the right type of foods and you won't be struggling to fast 20 hours straight and will have no need to even count calories, carbs or anything other than getting your continuous 20 hour fasting period per day.

TV Shows like "Biggest Loser" do great harm to people since they brainwash people to think exercise is only way to lose fat and they demonize dietary fat, when actually your largest percentage of eating should be saturated fats.

I can eat normal carb, low carb, or zero carb and have no problems with energy. If I try to extend my fast for 2-3 days, THEN I run into bonking issues on the bike. That's one lesson I won't soon forget. :) Right now I'm doing zero carb and feel just fine on the bike. I have noticed that if I don't get enough sleep, I feel tired and sluggish while riding.

I tend to conk out easily probably due to my anemic state most of the time. Weird cos I eat a lot of red meat and greens, but it seems to come right quickly when i down a redbull. Probably the Vitamin B. Let me know what exercise works for you and what I can do to keep from fainting when I do. Oh and sports drinks don't work for me, it just all comes out after the workout.
