[epilepsy] Disability and its benefits -

As an epileptic who heard an advertisement on radio about disability and connections to epilepsy, I would like to encourage others who may quality to apply too. It does not cost you anything to look into
this and possible get what you deserve.

If by chance you do not have drivers license and you may live in an area where it would be super hard to get to work without license, you may find a partial answer with disability. I lost my license when 17
years old after an auto accident whick was caused by my first seizure.
I know a lot of others do not have their license for similar reason
too. With the disability, you also benefit from coverage of Medicare after a certain length of time. I do not recall how long this was.

Another factor about the disability is that with time, you are getting
higher monthly payments than you would have gotten if starting your
social security coverage at the age in the 60's as many do.

I went for brain surgery, left temporal, about 15 years ago. It
was covered by disability and it completely stopped seizures which
occured during the day. However I started getting them when
asleep and still get these a couple of times a month. I am still on drugs, presently Lamictal but this is covered in part too.It is so much better since I was even qualified to get my drivers license back. I have lived in two states, New York and North Carolina, and I appealed in both states and got full license with no restrictions
or mention of epilepsy on it since my seizures are just when asleep.

Maybe think about looking into this available option and good luck too.

Doris :-)
