[fast5] Rice

 

I can't stop thinking about rice... I've been reading your blog today...
the Pleiosticine (sp?) Diet fascinates me. Currently, I'm on the GAPS
diet, which says to:

...avoid double-chain polysaccharides found in grains, most beans,
potatoes, sugar, maple syrup, etc... they feed an overgrowth of
unhealthy fermentative microbes, which cause toxins and a leaky gut...

The grains mentioned include rice. Include white rice. Perhaps that's
just for people with gut problems, though? Which, I'm not sure if you
know, the GAPS diet tries to address.

Also... I just want to make extra sure I understand - you're saying that
white rice is better than brown, even though it's more processed (and
not what we would have been evolved to eat, exactly) because the brown
part is hard on our guts?

I love picking your brain about this.

All the stuff on iron is really interesting, too.
