A New Vegas Venue to Consider
Prince, I know that you don't often do things over again ~ but I miss your being here... and so I was thinking and also hoping that perhaps you have some fond memories of 3121 Vegas ~ and that you might consider being able to play until the sun comes up one of the treasures in Vegas worth returning to for...
There is an empty showroom at the Las Vegas Hilton on Paradise... With the economy being the way that it is, and the Hilton lowering the room rates just to fill up the hotel ~ you should be able to make yourself a truly sweet deal on the showroom...
It's a nice showroom, Prince ~ it seats around 1,500 people comfortably in chairs that have a drink holder built into a wide armrest. There's even a bar right inside the showroom over on the left hand side of the room.
Every seat in that showroom is a seat close to the stage ~ even the ones up on the balcony ~ for the stage has a retractable extension that goes out and up to the balcony seats. There are raised extensions on both sides of the stage that could be used either for special seating or as part of the stage area or a combination of both ~ I'm thinking of a club type setting like you had on the Leno show... with real fans sitting in the wings, ready to dance for you...
There's both escalators and also a fairly elegant staircase up to the balcony and also rooms up there by the balcony that could be used either by the band or for after show parties...
The Hilton also has a second small showroom right off the casino floor that has intimate table seating groups on tiered levels so that everyone can see the stage easily, and a dance floor right in front of the stage ~ it also has a bar at the back of the room. And there is also live music in the Tempo Lounge ~ which has a tiny dance floor in it too. Right now they have a two man karaoke type band playing in it... You might be able to work something where you would be the one to determine what music gets played in these places... or you might even want to use either one of these places for after-show jams... or maybe both ideas, for the music ends at 2:00 a.m. or earlier in both spots.
And there's a Manilow gift shop up the hallway by the hotel room elevators that would look beautiful with Princely gifts in it...
Maybe make a deal for six months, like you did at the Rio, and renegotiate the price you are paying for the showroom ~ after proving with numbers how your show has increased hotel occupancy, brought business to the restaurants, and maybe even increased gambling on the casino floor... here's hoping the Purple People won't forget to tip the dealers ;)
