There is the Vagal Nerve Stimulator. It is like a pacemaker for the brain. You have a generator put in your chest and they connect lead wires to the vagal nerve in your neck since that nerve doesn't conduct pain. Then the docs sit it to go off every so often. My daughter has had her since 02 and her battery is just now running down. But every 3 minutes hers comes on for 30 seconds and she has a magnet that when one starts you can turn it on and it is at a higher strength of electricity to try to interupt the seizures. We really didn't know if it was doing much at all but since the battery is dying down now we are seeing more activity cause it is not coming on correctly. We will have the battery replaced and she will be good again. She still takes lots of meds but it is better than nothing.

They say about a third of the ppl that get this had a remarkable decrease in their seizures and most have the intensity of the seizure is lessened.

Hope this helps

I know of someone who has a device implanted in his chest that when a seizure comes on, another person can take a special magnet that will subdue his seizure. I don't know the details as to why or how this works for his circumstances. He also has Cerebral palsy but i don't know how that related.
