[fast5] Re: New member, curious, welcomes feedback

Hi Rick and thanks for the welcome.

I appear to have misrepresented my true self and am glad your email has given me the opportunity to put that right.

"it causes you large amounts of anxiety and stress. When a person is worrisome or nervous, the stress hormone cortisol is released."... "you need to really find a therapist to help you with your anxiety"

I don't feel anxious or stressed. When my attention is turned to my gigantic weight and I write about it, then obviously my mood is one of great concern, for I don't want to weight 365lb to the end of my life. If you met me at a time when I am not thinking about my weight, you'd think me one of the most relaxed, laid back, unworried people you had ever met. I sleep like a log, laugh a lot, people say I am a joker, etc.

"I'm curious as to where you get a basal metabolic rate of 2700 calories? That's more than I need as a weight lifter who walks six miles a day! Most women can do well with 1200-1500 calories per day."

The basal metabolic weight is worked out according to one's weight. A woman weighing 365 pounds has a MUCH higher rate than one weighing 180 pounds. If I walk a mile I will burn up MANY more calories than someone half my weight. I got that actual figure from a website that works these things out (was it Fitday?)

"So when you figure out your caloric needs you should use your LEAN bodyweight to get your numbers."

I agree you MIGHT have a point here. But it's not that fat takes calories to sustain, it's that 365lb takes a lot of calories to move about!

"caffeine. Caffeine tends to raise insulin and cortisol levels."
I never drink or eat anything that contains any caffeine at all.

"I do wish you the most success in this endeavor."

Thank you!

Helena
