Re: [epilepsy] Re: Keppra

Just adding my past experience with my daughter...............the past 6 years.
Its very hard to get theraputic ranges for keppra unless you have a simple case of ep. The level for keppra is levitrimician and it is a send out testtakes 72 hours to get results back. yuck!
Our epitologist doesn't check my daughters all the time due to the fact that it takes so long to get back and my daughter has epilepsy due to her metabolism so if her metabolism is up then her keppra level is gone before long. And vice versa! It really just depends on how much keppra you take and how your body absorbs it!

Her levels were checked for Keppra? My son's neurologist said there is no need to check the blood for the Keppra because it is mostly out of his system in 24 hours. I'm just wondering if we should have his blood checked. It wouldn't be any big deal, as he already has his blood drawn every three months for his diabetes.
