Hi CBI
Here is something from Epilepsy.com about it being hereditary: http://www.epilepsy .com/101/ ep101_inherited
Do children/babies outgrow seizures? Here is one of my favourite site: (read about it about half way down the
page. http://www.epilepsy ontario.org/ client/eo/ eoweb.nsf/ web/Medications
Those are two of my trusted websites (besides my own of course :)smile:))
Hope this helps answer some of your questions.
I know my grandson had Ep GM seizures when he was about 5. It took the drs. a good year to diagnose as they
kept saying he was just having temper tantrums and go home and try again. His mother (our daughter also had
GM) so knew very well it was for real and her being a RPN made it all the more difficult to deal with the
doctors. He was finally given some liquid tegretol and was on it for a couple years and gradually weaned off
as he no longer has seizures, except for the odd staring and zoning out periods which is nothing to worry
about.
