[epilepsy] Re: Some questions

Hi all,

Millie, I'm not talking about a traditional baby monitor. What I'm
talking about is sometimes called a SIDS monitor. It is actually a
cardio-respiratory monitor, which doctors can prescribe, if a baby
has had a life-threatening breathing incident or severe respiratory
problems. I would imagine doctors could prescribe the same type of
monitor for older children who stop breathing due to seizures.

Julie, Megan has tonic clonics and has never stopped breathing during
her seizures. She often makes noises kind of like grunting through
most of the seizure, and I can tell that she is taking in air and
expelling it.

Take care,
Tammy
