[epilepsy] Re: Facing epilepsy from 15 years

Hi Amir,

My daughter expresses some of the same frustration that you have.
Having to depend on others when you are an adult is so difficult at
times, even when the people around you are very supportive. One thing
I am trying to encourage Megan to do is to move to a place that has
public transportation, so she can come and go when she wants to do
so. It may help if you think about the fact that everyone is
dependent on others in some ways, it's just a little more in your
case. Many families only have one working parent, so the mother (or
sometimes the father) depends on their spouse to provide for them
financially. The other person depends on their spouse to do household
chores like cooking and cleaning. We all depend on the government to
protect us from criminals and fire, to get us to the hospital if we
are hurt, etc. The whole of humanity is interdependent, and there is
nothing wrong with that.

Keep your chin up. (Sorry, that may be idiomatic and not make sense
to you. I mean to think positively and try to feel good about
yourself.) Always remember that you are a unique and valuable person.

Take care,
Tammy
