Re: [fast5] Bananas: The ultimate hunger buster

BTW: "resistant starch" = "polysaccharides" :

It's basically a kind of continuum, between the simple
sugars and the long-chain ones. Your brain and muscles
only "eat" the simple ones, but your gut and bacteria
in your gut like the longer ones.

I think bananas are an amazing food. There are peoples
in the world that use them as their MAIN food and do
fine on them, plus some fish. What is also interesting
about them is they are rather man-made, since their
wild version (like the wild versions of wheat and corn)
are not at all similar to the version we know.

Bananas: The ultimate hunger buster

Ever grab a snack but then feel hungry again 20 minutes later? Next time, reach for a banana. It's loaded with Resistant Starch (RS), a healthy carb that fills you up and helps to boost your metabolism. Slightly underripe medium-sized bananas have 12.5 grams of RS—more than most other foods. Ripe bananas give you 4.7 grams of RS, still enough to keep hunger pangs away.
