I think this is where Fast-5 has it over the EOD fasting. You can move a window around, and not worry about it. Human socializing is SO MUCH about food. I didn't really appreciate how much it is about food until I found I couldn't eat what everyone else ate. It is very isolating, and anxiety-provoking. I can empathize with the desire to just sit and drink beer!
At the time the grand spaghetti feast took place, I pretty much had to eat every 3 hours or I couldn't function well. Which, combined with a no-gluten diet, made life really difficult: I had to carry enough food to get me through, every single place I went. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who gets ill from "cross contamination" and all that, which few people actually understand so they think I'm just being a pain, which doesn't help the social situation much. The rest of my family does ok unless they eat something obvious, like say, a whole slice of bread.
These days it is a lot easier and we've started socializing again. There still isn't food I can eat at most small get-togethers, but I'm not ravenous so it doesn't matter much, and they are "snacky" types of foods that people don't notice if you are eating or not. And more and more restaurants have a GF menu.

I agree with you. We were at a pizza place, and everyone was having pizza. I don't normally eat pizza, but I ate a couple slices to be part of the group. I COULD have ordered a salad, but it would have made me feel isolated, and one motivation of being on fast-5 is the idea that I can cheat on my normally strict diet once in a while.....
I love all kinds of food, and I love to socialize with my friends.
I expect it will be another 6 months or more until I have pizza again.... Not something I intend to do regularly.
