RE: [Bulk] [fast5] Could fast 5 not be for me?

Have you ever been checked for low blood sugar?  Or, if you can afford a blood glucose meter and strips, test your blood in the am and just before you start eating and then before bed and any other time you are having symptoms.

Wal-Mart sells a meter for around 10 bucks and you can get their brand name strips fairly cheap.

I used to have the same problem, which is why I never tried this.  I would get so shaky.  Even now, I have bad days where I have to break early, but I try to at least make it to 3 pm.

The other thought I have is that your body hasn’t started burning fat yet, it just stubborn.  Maybe do the Atkins induction diet for a week or two [protein and fat only] without fast 5 and then start with fast 5 for a week with Atkins, then go back to Paleo with fast 5.

This way you can eat all day while your body starts dipping into your fat stores.

So to sum up:

Think hypoglycemia     Test blood  / Or

One week eat all day Protein and fat only

One week Fast 5 with protein and fat only

Then, around week 3 fast 5 and paleo

I tried fast 5 a year ago, and couldn't do it. I would get crazy hungry,
drink a bunch of water to reduce the hunger, then spend the rest of the
day peeing clear and having headaches. I think I was washing out my
electrolytes with all that water.

Two weeks ago I tried again. I drink a lot less water to stave off my
hunger. This time my problem is extreme weakness, which is solved when I
eat. I don't have this problem everyday, but I do some days. I'm
perplexed, because I eat a paleo diet, so it's not too many carbs. I eat
a lot of fat and protein and low sugar/ starch veggies. I feel like I'm
eating heartily and very well...

Perhaps my body needs more time to get used to the fasting? Or maybe
it's just not good for everyone?

I suppose it's hard to know what is going on, without knowing *exactly*
what I eat, and how my health is.

I can give one example: Sunday my window was 3p to 8p. I ate a quiche
with salmon, veg soup made with homemade gelatinous broth, nuts, crab
meat, dates.

Monday, the hunger was astronomical. I opened my window at 3p with 1½
cups crab meat. I felt soooo tired. I wanted to wait to eat dinner with
my friend for the rest of my food. By 6p I was shaking and felt I was
going to faint. I finally ate at 645p and felt great after that.

I don't want to spend my days starving and tired... this happens more
often than not. Today I'm feeling hungry and energy is getting low.

Any ideas?
