Hi Doris,
When Megan first had seizures, she had no warning at all, no type of aura. When she got older, two things happened. She began to have myoclonic seizures, and sometimes she would have a myclonic ten to twenty minutes before a tonic clonic seizure. She also started having auras some of the time, but they were usually only a couple of minutes before the seizure. That, coupled with the fact that Megan didn't really have memory of previous auras, didn't necessarily mean that she would prepare to have a seizure. Sometimes she would come to me at work and say, "I feel funny," and I would make her sit or lie down.
Megan doesn't remember right before a seizure and right after a seizure. In fact, sometimes she doesn't remember things a few hours after a seizure. For example, she has gone to class after having a seizure, but then didn't remember anything that happened in class and barely remembered being there.
I'm so grateful that we seem to have found the right combination of medication to completely control Megan's seizures! I hope that that can happen for others on the list who are still having seizures, whether it be through meds, surgery, or something they haven't even discovered yet.
Take care,
Tammy
