Re: [fast5] Re: Cravings and Hunger

I’ve never been addicted to anything (other than exercise), that I can think of, but yes....exercise can be very addicting! Gotta love that something so healthy is a happy addiction! :)

When I get hungry I go to hulu - find something interesting and hop on my exercise bike.  It freaks my husband out!  Stop that your going to get hungrier!!  But I don't.  Most of the time I do that once and I am fine till I can eat.  There have been a couple high stress days though - and on those days instead of binging like I have in the past - I ended up on the bike for a couple hours (spread out over the entire day.)  For me 30 minutes or so - at a "lower" pace - enough to get my heartrate around 120 - will release enough in the way of endorphins to help me through the day. *That* is the purpose - in fact I have quit working out to "burn calories" - now I do it "to feel the high."  This may sound "junkielike"  (it actually is - once upon a time I had a nasty little problem - quitting that nasty habit is what lead to my weight gain)   Regardless of how it sounds I have gone from exercising twice a week (begrudgingly - and grumpily) to five or six times a week easily (happily - excitedly)!  And all it took was a bit of an attitude adjustment!

I took my minds old habit of trying to get high and made it work for me instead of against me!

(Yes - I realize you can go crazy and obsessively exercise.  So - let's not go batty with the warnings eh?)
