Oddly enough, the gastro who did the scoping didn't recommend *anything* to get
rid of the H. Pylori. Likely because I also told him I wasn't ready to
go on Nexium
for GERD. However, at the time I was already on antibiotics for a
sinus infection.

The thing is, I had upper stomach pain for some time, esp. lying down, or on
an empty stomach. So my assumption was: it's the HP or GERD. I did some
research, and konjac sounded like a possible cure, so I tried it. Did it get
rid of the HP? I don't know without another endoscope, which I'm not
likely to ask for! But the pain and discomfort has gone away.

Also <TMI alert!> I went from something like 6 BM's a day to one. The color
changed from black (likely internal bleeding) to light brown. No more gas
or gurgling either. My fasting blood glucose dropped by about 10 points,
but whether this was from the konjac or Fast-5 I don't know, as I hadn't
been checking it for awhile. Meals with a lot of sugar ... like pecan pie ...
stopped making me feel queasy and lethargic.

Konjac kills some of the worst bacteria, and encourages the good ones,
which is a lot better than plain antibiotics. Also it has a long history for
curing "stomach problems" in China and Japan. Only problem with it
is the texture (getting it to mix with water, which is why I add psyllium)
and finding it (not very many sources).

I haven't heard of people (besides me) using it specifically to cure ulcers
or GERD though. Just a WAG on my part.
