What virus was this- it wasn't this flu going around was it? My wife had it
really bad (and gave it to me, as I realized, but only once it was over heh
heh).
You meant raise Cain; everyone wants to raise this guy; I imagine he must
have been woken up by all the phone calls and is tired, groggy, making
himself a pot of coffee, and wondering what he really accomplished for
himself with the whole Abel thing now that the phone is ringing off the
hook. (Personally I think Cain's offering of produce was a much better,
healthier offering to the Lord than Abel's offering of burnt baby sheep. I'd
be mad too if I were Cain, but I have a decent temper.)
But you're on the right track- raising a CANE at this doctor is probably
going to get better results. After my wife's broken hip healed (years ago)
we've have an extra cane, so if anyone needs one to shake threateningly at a
doctor, especially a clueless GP, you can have it. She has a really cool one
with a dog head that she likes, and her first cane is sitting there like a
read-headed stepchild.

Does your landlord know his still-current tenant is having medical problems
on moving day and is being told to take it easy by doctors?
What state is this in? Even if you gave notice, you may have legal rights
here and even if you don't, where do you live? I'm sure some strong guy on
this list lives near you. I doubt you're in the Bay Area but I'd help out if
you were.
I'd probably put an ad on my local Craigslist or some local site saying "my
wife is sick and I need help from someone because she can't help us move.
Before we get evicted." Put it that way. The word "evicted" makes people
almost as excited as "foreclosed"
so try to use that word somewhere too.
Lots of community/nonprofit groups have been forming with people being in
desperate situations and/or available to help someone desperate. Maybe you
can find an outfit like that near you. Try church groups as well; they're
always around.
What's Michael going back to school for?
