I never took the Keppra XR (i just took regular Keppra), but when I started creeping up towards the 3000mg level, I always started getting really sleepy. And, my mood changed as well--I was very snippy!

For 15 months was taking Keppra XR 1500mgs once at bedtime (10pm) a day. Started taking 1000mgs twice a day. I feel zonked out & wonder if maybe I'm feeling the larger (1500 into 200mgs) total amount per day. Or, if what I'm feeling is the result of taking it twice in the day.
I'd like to see if it's the increased amount (2000mgs) or, if its that I'm now taking it twice a day (10 am & 10 pm). Maybe I just slept through the time that it was most noticeable, now I feel it most after my 10am dose. I'll give it a few weeks before making change, maybe I'll feel OK again in time.
