Sarah I was 31 when i got my license. good things come to those who wait. i
had seizures for over 25 years but thanks to surgery i no longer have
them. like others stated speak with your doctor(s) about the driving and
contact your dmv office and find out what the laws are in your state. To make it
faster pick up a book from the dmv study it so if and when the dmv says its
ok you can go to the dmv and take the testince you have been studying the
book.
hope everything works out

Sarah, I'm sure you know your wonderful childrens lives are worth more than
the convenience of driving and not only their lives but yours and others
too. If you drove against doctors orders and lied to DMV, caused an
accident
but all were OK and unhurt would you open yourself up to child endangerment
charges or the risk of loosing your unharmed kids if it was learned you had
a seizure and therefore were considered to have put them in harms way? I
know it must hard to rely on others but not worth the risk, Talk to the doc
is my thought.

Subject: [epilepsy] DMV question.
I am 23 and i still do not have my liecense or learners. I plan on going
the
first of the month to get my learners and start to learn how to drive .but
My issue is my doctor said not to drive or be alone with my kids intill i
see a neuro and get testing done about the seizures i had. I have not had
any bad spells like the first one. If nothing else ive had maybe 2 in the
last month or so.. and they were not that bad and i dont even really
remember them i just remember being dazed and confused and really tired and
out of it. i remember feeling like one was comming on. but blanked out.And
if i was driving I would have to be with someone else at all time with a
learners. So .Should i wait for a neuro to say okay i can or just go to the
DMV and get my leaners and not mention the seizures.
Im scared if i do mention the seizures i will never beable to get my
liecense or drive. I can tell when ones comming on so i d have time to pull
off of the road and park intill its done and call someone. Im ready for
some
independance and tired of having to rely on everyone to take me to my
daughters doctors appointments or to mine.and i cant really go to school or
work without my liecense.
sarah.
