Mark,
You know --I didn't think of itching as a joke. Sorry about that. I meant
that all you have talked about is wanting to drive.
Now in this letter you say you clean the house. Could I ever use you! I
like to bake bread and rolls. I haven't done much of that since I live at
the retirement center -- mainly because guess who would eat the rolls--
Me --and I don't need the calories. I used to bake bread and rolls to sell
when I lived on the farm.
Do you like to go thru papers and file. I have a bad habit of piling
instead of filing.

Millie, I know you were making a joke when you said "itching" to drive, but
it made me start crying. It IS very frustrating. I have hobbies -- some that
benefit my family and others like baking bread (make that MAKING bread -- I
don't just pop it into the oven ;) and, being an obsessive-compulsiv
the spirit hits me, I clean my Mom's house to within an inch of its life (I
KNOW, houses don't have lives!).
I feel like a baby having to ask people to take me places. And (I know, you
shouldn't start a sentence with a conjunction!
hours this afternoon, the only things I could do were cook and clean.
More and more my thoughts are turning to hurting myself. My case manager was
here today and she asked me if I thought I needed to go to the hospital.
My mind is going a mile a minute now so I'll have to end this message here.
Thanks so much for your concern.
Mark

Mark,
I don't recall there ever being a time when you weren't "itching" to
drive. That must be very frustrating. Have you tried starting some hobby to
keep you busy . There has got to be something else to do.
Yes, I think you need some counseling. You need someone to talk to --to
accept not being able to drive. Or at least give you some handles to work
with so you can get your thinking about something else
I think it was Terry who said you could have a sz a day or week after 6
months. That is very true. My Dr. told me that I could be without a sz for
20 years and they could start again.
Since I sold my car, I am going thru having to ask people for a ride, wait
when the shuttle or bus doesn't come for 30 -45 minutes -- and I don't like
it. I always take something with me to read while
I am waiting. So I am feeling some of what you are feeling but I know I
won't drive again.
That is just the way the ball bounces. You need to find something to do.
Do you have any hobbies?
Millie
